Bardot Lovin'

First off I just want to take this opportunity to dwell on the lives of the Berkeley Six and all the innocent victims who tragically died in Tunisia recently. I feel like even though we're all living on and enjoying summer, going to concerts etc, we should just reflect on all the deceased. RIP

So, as some of you may know I am now officially a member of the Irish Blogger Association. It's a fab network to be a part of. It was through them that I found out that Athlone Town Centre were searching for a Guest Blogger. I recently visited the shopping centre to use a voucher and I instantly  fell in love with the place. It's not too big or too small and has literally everything you need. Shops include Next, Zara, River Island, H&M, Topshop and much more.

As part of their search for a Guest Blogger, they've asked that I detail a Key Summer Trend.

It didn't take me long to think of what I would write about - Bardot. For anyone who doesn't know, the Bardot style is the Off-The-Shoulder clothing trend which is currently being relived and taking the fashion world by storm. It was hugely popular back in the 50s and 60s.. It's no surprise that it's making a re-appearance. I even read somewhere lately that "Shoulders are the New Cleavage" haha. Seriously though, the neck/shoulder area is very flattering and instantly stands out when exposed.

The great thing about Bardot clothes is that they're sooo comfy, come in lots of materials, are gorgeous for summer and can be dressed up or down. So here I will show you my take on the Oh So Fabulous bardot trend!!

My location for the shots was in stunning Holycross village!

This next look would be perfect for a Summer Wedding!
For this style I chose a fabulous lace burnt orange bardot top. It is available in Penneys right now in Burnt Orange, White and Black as far as I know!! (Obviously I had to have something orange in here).. Yet again, it's a top that can be simply paired with jeans and glads too.

Top - Penneys/Primark €3 (Oh yes I got it for €3!!) in some stores; €8
.. I love it because it looks much more expensive than it actually is with the lace detail

Skirt - Bershka €3.99 in the sale (I really am a one for bargains)

Shoes - Billie X Shoes down to £9.99
(Look out for the cute tassels)

It's A (Lime)Crime You Don't Have One

I've been wanting to post about my Limecrime Velvetine lip stain for so long! The shade I bought was 'Red Velvet' as you can see.. I was mad to try a Limecrime product while adamant to find the perfect red lippy which gives a Marilyn Monroe effect.

When applying, I did a quick run around my outer lips with a peach shaded lip liner (so as not to go outside the lines).. Limecrime is very wet at first, so don't apply in a big thick stroke. Instead I used the Model's Own lip brush to paint my lips with precision. I started with the inside of my bottom lip, working it up to the top lip. However, it wasn't long before it dried in to give it's matte/velvet tone.

I hummed and haw'd over whether to buy it on the official Limecrime website as shipping costs from USA would have been crazy! I held off for a while, then one day I was flicking through Depop and discovered an on-line shop called 'Cocktail Cosmetics'  (link to website below) . Their prices are so affordable and there was very quick delivery.

I am extremely happy with this product. It lasts for hours, gives a matte finish, and gives a lush voluminous look to your lips. Here is some photos of me wearing it at a singing competition. I can't recommend Limecrime enough, and can't wait to try more products <3
