Dresses.ie SS16 Showcase

Hello everyone, happy Wednesday!
As some of you may know from following my Snapchat (cloddscan) and my Instagram @orangeobviouslyyy I attended the Dresses.ie Spring/Summer '16 event last Wednesday 2nd  March. I had such a wonderful day thanks to the fabulous team at Yellow Machine PR.

The collection incorporates 70’s fringing and 50’s florals, with pastels and leather, faux-fur with distressed denim, graphic prints and simple silhouettes.
The S16 collection from Dresses.ie has dropped and it’s making a statement.
The new collection also showcases the superior quality and design that newly rebranded Dresses.ie is becoming known for.

Brian Conway and Eamon Downey

The S16 showcase was curated and presented by top Irish stylist Brian Conway. While leading hair stylist Dylan Byrne of TONI&GUY and makeup artist, Sue Doyle of Stila, styled each of Ireland’s top models. These included Thalia Heffernan, Teodora Sutra, Raine Borges, Joanne Northy and Grace O’Mahony.

  • Myself and Ursula Walsh.
The event took place in Sam's Bar on Dawson Street, Dublin. The venue was absolutely stunning with quirky artwork, fascinating bookshelves and the perfect length for a catwalk.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by the lovely Anthony O'Brien from Yellow Machine who made me feel very welcome. It was great to finally put a face to a name haha!!

One of my favourite things about attending press events is networking with like-minded people in the industry, especially other bloggers. I met Ursula from Mom Fitness Diary when I first arrived. We exchanged names, got photos and instantly hit it off. She's such a sweetie and it was great to spend the morning with her.

Next we were treated to a luxurious Parisian Style breakfast. It was absolutely delish!! There wasn't one shred of my croissant left behind haha!!

The absolutely fantastic tunes which were spun by top Dublin and Berlin DJ, Sinead Meaney set the scene for the fashion show which would shortly commence. Seriously check her out, what a talent!

With 6 different themes and 5 of Ireland's top models there were 30 Spring/Summer looks showcased in the fashion show!
I am genuinely a little bit worried for my bank account after viewing the collection. They have such beautiful, versatile pieces and with 2 family weddings coming up in the summer I will most definitely be buying off of Dresses.ie

Here are some of my favourites:

Dresses.ie have moved away from its heritage as a specialist dress-only retailer, to embrace a ‘wider wardrobe’ of high-fashion looks.
I'm delighted that they have, because this pretty lace two-piece is right up there on my wishlist.

Buy it here: Lace Two Piece

How elegant, classy, simple and beautiful is this tie front evening dress? The belt creates an hour glass silhouette which is complimented by the midi length!! The colour and shape would definitely suit all complexions, shapes, and sizes! But the best part for me are the slits in the sleeves, giving the dress that feminine edge. So chic!!

Buy it here: Pink Tie Dress

I would never usually be one for jumpsuits. In fact I've never actually bought one! It's not that I don't like them, but more so that I've never found one to suit my body type and height. Howeeeeever, there's a first time for everything ;)
I am seriously crushing on this stunning grey culotte jumpsuit from Dresses.ie
It's absolutely perfect for spring summer. Pair with some patent white court heels, white leather clutch and a bold purple or pink lippy for a pretty party look!!

Buy it here: Grey Plunge Jumpsuit

Now onto a more casual, easy-approach look!
There was never a stripe I didn't like! So I maaaay just need these pants in my life.. PRONTO! Absolutely loved  Brian Conway's choice of pairing them with a shiny navy bomber. It's very Kendall Jenner-esque.. In other words, super hot this season!
(Coming to Dresses.ie soon...)

Yes.. I do in fact have a stripe addiction... And I do love a bit of "cold shoulder" action.. So of course this playsuit was made just for me??
It's super versatile - can be casually worn with a pair of superstars and a beanie or dressed up with a pair of lace-up heels and bold makeup!! Also it would be wearable right through to Winter with a pair of tights and ankle boots.. So basically in Ireland's case, you could do that right now!

This is definitely the piece from the collection which I am BY FAR most excited about!!
This playsuit is SOOOO me! The colours, the large print etc. are just stunning in person.. And do you want to know the best part?? The crossover neckline is outstandingly brilliant for Flat-Chested Fiona's like me!!! EEEEEKKKK!!!
I
HAVE
BEEN
WAITING
FOR
THIS
MOMENT
ALL
OF
MY
LIFE!
Sorrrrrrrrry for dramatising what looks like a normal playsuit, but it has a beautiful secret...
Right at the point where the "V" shape meets on the neckline, there is a button.. Yes, a button!!
For someone who struggles to find going out clothes with a mid neckline, this is a game changer. Most v-neck and plunge dresses/tops I wear have to be pinned to the very last for a night out cos I simply have no chest to hold it up haha..
Any other girls with small boobs will totally get me right now! I can't wait for it to go up on Dresses.ie. I think it will be immensely popular!!

It was such a fabulous event, which I was truly honoured to attend! The effort that was made by Yellow Machine and Dresses.ie to run such a lovely/rrelaxing morning was second to none!!

I genuinely cannot recommend their new collection highly enough. The quality, the trends, the price.
I can't wait to get shopping soon!!

Lots of love,

Penneys Spring 2016 - Sneak Peek

Description: cid:image005.jpg@01D147BA.54ED1DD0

Hi everyone, it's been awhile! I took a much needed break from the blog and social media posts for over a month! So anyway, what better way to start the New Year than to see what's new in Penneys soon?
I received images of the press release for their Spring '16 campaign and with the success of my in-store haul a few months back, I just couldn't wait to share it with all you Penneys lovers!!
.
.
.

For the ladies..

S'less Jacket €23, Top €13, Shorts €17, Earrings €1.50, Bag €24

I absolutely love this casual, tomboy look. It's safe to say the ripped denim look will live on this season (yay!!). I adore this sleeveless jacket. Prints are all back in and it will be so easy to style up because it's monochrome.. And at €23??? STEAL!

Jacket €25, Top €10, Trousers €16, Earrings €1.50, Shoes €13

This look is very much for someone with an acquired style! Wear the trousers wrong and they would definitely resemble pyjamas... Style it correctly, as is in this photo, you could achieve a blissfully boho look! The jacket is definitely my fave! Fingers crossed they'll supply it in more colours!

Gilet €30, Top €8, Shorts €13, Earrings €1.50

This gilet is super wearable - for everyone!! Pair it with a slogan tee or a coloured polo neck and ripped knee jeans for a sassy high-street ensemble!

Top €8, Skirt €10, Belt €4, Sunglasses €4, Earrings €1.50, Shoes €19

This is definitely one of my favourite looks this Spring! The 70s Vibes are clearly still here with the warm tones and patterns! I will definitely be buying the skirt and belt. I love the shape of the skirt!

Top €15, Trousers €16, Earrings €1.50, Sandals €13

How cute is this ensemble? Bell arms and flares are so hot this season! I particularly love the fact that these flares are 3/4 lengths, showing off the beaut lace up sandals!! It would make a very sassy interview outfit I reckon!

Jumpsuit €17, Earrings €1.50, Shoes €19

Yes, yes, yes!!! Culottes are still as stylish ever. Delighted to see this trend is continuing into 2016!

Dress €15, Earrings €1.50, Sandals €13

Ok I am a little bit too excited about this dress!!
It's light blue - check
A Line in shape - Check
Pocket detail - Check
Summery vibes with a halterneck -Check
MUST HAVE!!

Red bra €10, Triangle bralet €8

Who else is loving lacy delicates and cute bralets to put underneath sheer tops? So pretty and cheap!

A few for the men..

Tshirt €12, Shorts €8, Bag €15, Shoes €16

I think people forget how stylish the men's section in Penneys can be! That T-shirt could literally be worn to any occasion, whether it would be dressed up or dressed down! It's one of those staple tees that every lad should have in his wardrobe. Also lovin' the bag!

Blazer €38, Shirt €13, Trousers €19, Shoes €16

If I were a boy, this would be the suit of my absolute dreams!! The blue is so eye-catching and smart and that shirt is just the icing on the cake! These will be a quick seller I would say.

TShirt €10, Jeans €23, Trainers €11

I just shared this for the trainers to be honest! I think you should have your brands like Nike and Adidas for goodwear but the cheap dupes from Penneys to wear to concerts/matches etc. because they can totally afford to get ruined!

Print Shirt €13

And here's just another fab going-out essential!!

So that's it, my faves in Penneys' upcoming collection! Keep an eye out for them as they should be landing in store really soon! And nothing beats the January blues like getting good clothes for great prices!

TV I can't live without!

Helllllo there!!
I thought with my Sky TV not working for 2 weeks, there would be nothing better than to pine for my fave shows and tell you all what I'm lovin'. So, it's very ironic how I'm telling you about the TV shows I can't  live without when I kind of am living without them......

DAILY - MUST WATCH

Home And Away..

Weekdays at 1.30(RTE 1) & 6.30(RTE 2)

Ahhh good ole' Home and Away!! Is there honestly anything better?? I can't miss an episode.. Even if it means having to record it and watch it 2 days later, it just cannot be missed! It is the only soap I watch and let's be real we all love a bit of fictional drama. The soothing Australian accents, the golden beaches and even Alf Stewart alone would have you watching. I am so attached to the show. I never watch ahead like other people, but let the drama unfold for myself. If you don't watch H&A, I advise you to but I warn you, there's only one Braxton brother left so don't be holding out for them anytime soon.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S

Catch it on Comedy Central everyday, most times of the day!

Possibly the greatest TV series of all time.. Correction - It IS THE greatest!!! I have seen every episode about a thousand times and I can heartily say that it just never gets old!! What is it about F.R.I.E.N.D.S that it is impossible to get sick of?? The writers are just second to none. I am always quoting the show in real life and in writing etc. They cleverly put together the most unlikely, yet very likely group of friends. The characters and the storylines are so realistic and relatable. So much so that I sometimes feel like I'm a part of their 90s New York City life. I watch F.R.I.E.N.D.S back-to-back everyday. Even just having it on in the background calms me and makes me feel safe. So this week the house is so quiet without it.. It's a real struggle :(

I am literally laughing OUT LOUD watching those gifs^^^
Is anybody else sounding it out (in their voices) in your heads too?

SEASONAL FAVOURITES

The X Factor

Image result for the x factor
Saturdays and Sundays on TV3 & ITV at 8pm

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! This show is what my Winter consists of!! There is no better feeling than sticking on X Factor, roaring fire, phone in hand, and cuddled up with my dog Robbie on the couch!!
I don't even listen when people try to claim that it's tripe.. I just ignore them! It's one of my favourite shows of all time!! I mean the taaaalent this year is cradiculous (so crazy/ridiculous that I made them one word)!!! Who else is bagging on Louisa Johnson to win??

Geordie Shore

Tuesdays at 10pm on MTV

Controversial one perhaps...? It's rude, it's vulgar, it's violent, it's scripted, it's hilarious, it's dramatic, but my God it is addictive. I constantly want to keep up with the Geordies and see what antics they'll get up to and what fights will break out.. But besides all the scripted drama, I kind of love the characters. And the girls have got styyyyyle!

New Findings

Impractical Jokers

Image result for impractical jokers
Weekdays at 7pm on Comedy Central

When I hear "4 Life Long Friends Who Compete To Embarrass Each Other...." come on, I instantly put down the phone and start watching. I probably discovered this Hidden Camera show about half a year ago and it's fair to say that myself and my mother have been hooked on it since! Joe, Murr, Q and Sal are just the funniest guys and play the most brutally hilarious pranks on the public and each other!! It is much better than any other prank show you will ever see!! ADORE!

The Walking Dead

Image result for the walking dead
Netflix

Soooo, watching this was never my own choice. Literally every time i go to Jack's house he is in the middle of a Walking Dead marathon so I guess I've grown to quite like it haha :). I only see the odd episode because I don't have Netflix. But if you have it, you should totally check it out.. It's certainly entertaining and I know I probably would be addicted if I had Netflix.. It would be all-round very dangerous if I had it!!

I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here

Image result for im a celebrity get me out of here 2015

Every night at 9pm on ITV

Wow my boyfriend's taste really does influence me!! Can you believe I have never watched I'm A Celeb before this series?? I only really started watching it because Jack does and typical that I like it and Sky won't work... So thanks to the help of Snapchat friends last night I found that I can actually catch up on UTV or ITV player!! Yaaaay!! I don't know much about the show, I'm still learning!! Do you all like it?? Let me know!

So there you have it.. And moral of the story, you can totally live without your TV......

If you have a laptop that lets you catch up, Netflix and someone else's TV to watch... lol

Good night,
Clóda X
